The Daytona 500, the home of the big one, was a very eventful event. With the cars starting and the jets coming bye. Alex Bowman was in pole position for the race.
The pace car was in, and the cars took the green flag. Alex Bowman had a better start with the help of Kevin Harvik in the 4 car.
Austin Dylan in the 3 car was behind Alex Bowman and pushing into turn 1. Bowman tried to block but the 3 cars got under him and the 3 car of Austin Dylan were in the lead.
In lap 14, there was a big wreck with 16 cars. This could be the big one if you want to say it. Most of them were out because of the rain that happened the night before. How it happened was the 18 of Kyle Busch bumped his teammate Christifer Bell of the 20 car. When that bumped, it bumped the 10 car of Aric Armolona and turned him into Alex Bowman.
In lap 38, the 00 car of Quin Houff hit the wall and spun around into the grass with heavy damage to the car. The green flag was waved 3 laps after.
In lap 65 the 20 car had a right rear flat tire and hit the wall. There was minor damage to the rear of his car. There was no yellow flag waved.
In the final lap of the race Joey Logano in the 22 car was in the lead and was blocking his teammate Brad Keselowski of the 2 car. In the Final Corner of the race Logano blocked the 2 car and spun both of them into the wall. The yellow flag was waved and the 34 car of Micheal McDowell was in the lead. The 9 car did pass him but the yellow flag was waved before and the 34 car of McDowell won his first ever race. I will show you the image of the wreck and the image of the celebration.
Now the celebration
Overall the Daytona 500 was very you could say a weird event. It brought in new Rivals and new Winners. That was the 2021 Daytona 500.
